1. Tell us about your career to date and what inspired you to work in tech.

I ended up in IT by accident, and my first full-time role was at a small distributor based in New Zealand.

That said, I’ve always had channel roles and loved it.

I’ve worked for different distributors in a sales capacity and I’ve also worked in vendor land, including Microsoft where I worked for over six years.

I find the technology aspect of distribution most inspiring, especially as it relates to people and business. The fact that technology is constantly evolving is also exciting.

2. What do you see as being the key challenges and opportunities for the New Zealand channel?

Security is the big one in regards to opportunities and challenges.

Not only the opportunity to get the big deals in, but actually educating partners and their customers about the various security technologies available and their advantages.

3. What technology or app couldn’t you live without?

Metservice, New Zealand’s go-to weather app, is the app I use every day.

Wellington is renowned for its wind and all seasons weather. A girl’s gotta know what to wear in the unpredictable Wellington climate!

4. How do you like to spend your downtime?

I have a husband, 15-month-old, five-year-old and a kitten, all which keeps me pretty busy!

So when I can snatch a moment, it’s usually sitting down and appreciating a nice glass of wine, a meal out and spending time with the family.

5. What would you do if you weren’t working in tech?

Great question!  I’ve often thought about what else I would do, and struggle to think of another career path. Maybe a food critic; I’m pretty obsessed with food!
