Kicking goals on all fronts: Jaynean Leaupepe

With more than 20 years’ experience in New Zealand’s IT channel, it’s fair to say Jaynean Leaupepe knows her way around the industry. She is highly regarded by her colleagues and peers; she was named a finalist in the Reseller News Women in ICT Awards 2017 and is frequently praised for her ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Jaynean is an Enterprise Sales Specialist at Arrow ECS NZ in Auckland. When she’s not mastering her clients’ business strategies, she’s sporting her skill on the netball court or touch rugby field. Jaynean is also big on fishing and playing golf, and regularly spends time with her extended family; she’s a mother to three and a grandmother.

As Enterprise Sales Specialist, Jaynean leverages Arrow’s Ignite framework to align vendor and partner strategies, with the goal of building a more enabled channel community. This means providing support at every step of the sales cycle through channel engagements, enablement tools and marketing development. It’s a collaborative effort that involves various inputs and capabilities to achieve milestones based on leading growth indicators.

For Jaynean, the most rewarding aspect of her role is building relationships and contributing positive outcomes.

Jaynean’s first foray in the IT industry came in 1997, when she joined Toshiba as a Sales Coordinator. In 1999, she was headhunted by Spark Digital (previously known as Wang NZ and Gen-I Procurement), where she looked after major accounts including Westpac, Air NZ and Telecom.

In 2010, Jaynean progressed her career into IT distribution at Renaissance and was later recruited by Arrow ECS NZ, then known as Observatory Crest, where she took on the role of Business Development Manager.

Since then, Jaynean has used her experience in the channel to mentor younger women at Arrow ECS NZ, providing support and guidance to help them advance their career in the industry. It’s an area she would like to continue to develop, as she continues playing to her strengths of working with people and building relationships.
