Do it once, do it right: Karolina Mikita
“I don’t believe in entitlement. I believe in hard work, persistence and self-sufficiency.”
These are the words of Karolina Mikita, Arrow’s Renewals and Licencing Manager. For anyone that knows her, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Karolina values honesty, perseverance and teamwork. It’s that simple. With Karolina, what you see is what you get.
At the end of the day, if you want something, you need to work for it.
Karolina has been with Arrow for just under a decade. She started in operations and moved into internal sales before progressing into management. Her efforts in driving agility around workflows for fast, accurate quoting, has won Karolina recognition in the channel’s most regarded awards; she has been named a finalist twice at the ARN Women in ICT Awards in the Innovation Category, and twice in the ARN ICT Industry Awards. She was also named Arrow’s Employee of the Year in 2016.
Her life prior to joining Arrow, however, was far removed from IT. Born in Jelenia Góra, south-west of Poland, Karolina studied to become an emergency medical specialist. She spent weekends volunteering as a mountain rescuer, often helping to save lives of those affected by avalanches and climbing accidents. When she wasn’t studying or volunteering, she was competing in alpine skiing – something she learned at the ripe age of two.
What drove Karolina to Australia was her hunger for the unknown. “I wasn’t ready to settle down yet; I wanted to go outside my comfort zone, to study and work in a country where I had no connections or insight into how everything worked. I wanted to test if I could figure it all out.”
At Arrow Karolina has been quick to win the confidence of partners and vendors, alike, for her efficiency, reliability and genuine interest in their needs. Having noticed a gap in the market for fast and accurate quoting of vendor technology, Karolina helped transform internal processes, dramatically reducing the time of delivering quotes to partners (today’s quotes are usually generated up to 120 days in advance). She was also instrumental in the development of IBAM: a self-serve platform that provides insights into the status of customer licences, so partners never miss an opportunity.
In renewals, our philosophy is to be proactive instead of reactive.
“We understand that our channel partners don’t always have the time or capacity to focus on renewals. By combining our intelligent systems with real human interaction, we can deliver thorough and accurate quotes well ahead of time, so partners can drive business growth,” says Karolina.

“The best part is being able to turn something complex into something simple and actionable to the benefit of the channel,” says Karolina.
